God has plans for everyone

God has plans for everyone. And that includes you and me. He plans things according to what He thinks is best for you and me. Always remain faithful and hopeful. =))) When everything seems to go wrong, don't doubt Him because things might turn out better than what you actually expect. =)))

Shanghai

Its blogging time.. Just came back from Shanghai last night at 12am sharp and by the time I reached home, it was already 2am. Anyway, Shanghai is a wonderful city and it's really a place for work and love. =)))

21st September 2005

Decided to stay over at Janice and Rubee's dorm because of the morning flight the very next day. However, I didn't get to sleep because my dear old Rubee got drank from clubbing and I've got to take care of her from 2am till 330am... oh gosh!!! I've got to wake up at 445am to give Sheena a wake up call and I didn't get to sleep much the day before. Rubee ah, you better don't drink too much the next time you club because I won't be around and Janice won't be able to carry you to your room. =PpP

22nd September 2005

Woke up at 445am and called Sheena and Esther. Althought I only know Sheena for a month only, I knew that I had to give her a second morning call. Prepared everything and went down at 530am to meet Esther first. Around 30minutes later, Sheena finally came and she was carrying her first bagpack. Her bagpack was bigger than her...=))))

We reached the airport at around 7am and to our horror, our flight was delayed and we got to take the 9am flight instead of the 8am one. Hence we decided to have our breakfast at Macdonald.

Reached Shanghai at 11am and as soon as we came out of the airport, the 3 of us were smiling. The weather was so nice compared to the weather we were in 3 hours ago in Hong Kong. Anyway, Auntie Alice came to the airport and picked us up and she brought us to take the Shanghai Maglev. This train travels up to a maximum speed of 430km/hr and it uses magnetic fields and forces.

Went to Auntie's Alice house first before going to Dong Jia Hui to tailor our suits and clothes. Sheena and Esther were happily looking for designs and getting their suits ready for work upon their graduation. We spent the whole afternoon there and at around 6pm, we took a cab and went to Paulaner Muchen for dinner with Uncle and his friends. The place was beautiful and after dinner and beer, we went back to Auntie Alice's house.

23rd September 2005

Woke up at 745am to prepare myself to meet my "boss" at Xi Zhang Road. This district is very central and there are lots of commercial bulidings and of course, its very near Nanjing road, where there are lots of shopping centres.

Met Esther and Sheena again at 11am and then we went to Jade Garden. There was nothing much at that place except shopping for tourist stuff. Esther and I got ourselves a frame filled with paper-cuts figurine of our family and I think that it was really a nice buy. Shortly after this, we went over to Nanjing road and saw 4 crooks on top of a building, trying to jump down to avoid being caught by the police. There were many KPos around watching and we've decided to stay put and watch. But after 15 mins, we left the area (they never even jump loh). Then, we head off for shopping...=))))) We shopped until we forgot the time and we were late for dinner with Uncle.

After dinner, the 3 of us went to a Tea house where we played and drink tea till 2am..=)))))

10 things about Sheena

:).. finally got the strength to write things about Sheena. Guys that wana date her, please note...Esther also got 10 requirements for Sheena's husband so maybe u guys can read about it.

First
After a meal, Sheena needs dessert. She loves to eat something small and light after dinner.

Second
Note the things she loves to eat, Char Siew Su and also Polar Sugar Roll.

Third
She likes to scratch her hand. ie, mosqitoes' bites. Stop her from doing so because this will scar her.

Fouth
She loves to go "woooooooo" on (a) scary things, (b) amazing things, (c) funny things, (d) basically everything...

Firth
She is indecisive... You got to be super patient with her...

Sixth
Please bring an brella whenever you go out with her. She claims that she is a vampire and she cant stand the sun at all.

Seventh
If she loses an argument, she will say "FINE!" and "WHATEVER!".. =)

Eighth
Sheena needs love... You got to shower her with lots and lots and lots and lots of love.

Nineth
She cant wake up in the morning. Remember to give her morning call. Once every 30mins if you plan to go out with her in the morning.

Tenth
Her hair cant touch rain water. If not, she will get headache the next day. You got to take care of her when you go out with her during rainy days.

I got more things on her but then feeling rather tired today after spending the whole day with her. Hope it helps. Going to bed now.. yawn.....

A recap on what I did

A recap on events that I had done this week so far.....

16th September 2005 (Friday)

Went to school at 1130am for a tutorial on personal finance. I think this is another totally easy and crap course. But then I got no choice but to select this course to clear it as my finance major. After class, I went out with Sheena and Esther to book the tickets to Shanghai. We went to several agencies and finally got back to the first one that we went to. The whole trip cost more than what we wanted. However, since we got no other alternative, we decided to get them. Will be going over to Shanghai the following weekend. =))))

After getting the tickets, we walked around Mong Kok. It was kinda crowded (as usual) and we brought Sheena to purchase a backpack. This was going to be the first time Sheena ever carried one so it would be an eye opener. Shortly after this, we accompanied Sheena to make specs. Well, she had a super hard time deciding which brand and which design to get and told the shop that we would be coming back again tml to look at a design which wasnt available at the shop on that night.

17th September 2005 (Sat)

ALL becos SHEENA said that she wanted to go hiking to lose weight, Esther and I got to wake up rather early and prepare ourselves to go to Lanma Island. This is another outlying islands in HK. Well, we reached the pier at Central at around noon and caught the 1215pm ferry to Lanma Island. I was crossing my fingers, hoping that it would not rain. However, it didnt work out. When we arrived on the island, it started to pour. I was feeling totally crap and was super drenched. Well, not only me but the 2 gals too. Then we decided to at least reach the beach and then made our way to some cafe to chill. When I finally reached the beach, I got nothing much to say. It is super bad and I think the beach wasnt as fantastic as it claims to be. Anyway, we made our way to the Bookworm cafe and then ordered pizza and started to chill till 5pm. Took the 515pm ferry back to Hk and accompanied SHENNA again to do her specs. Finally, she decided on the specs she wanted and then we headed back home.

18th September 2005 (Sunday)

Went to church today with Sheena. The fellow church in HK was located at Prince Edward. Met Sheena at 815am and then off we went to attend the service. Althought the service was in cantonese, I must admit that the way they worship was exactly the same as mine back home. Hence I was able to worship the same way back home.

After service, I brought Sheena to Sha Tin to pay respect to my late Grandfather. When I reached there, my relatives were already there waiting for me. I bought some flowers and put it into the vase. Then, my relatives went home and I brought Sheena to the 10000 Buddhas Temple. The temple was located on the mountain top and Sheena didnt want to climb up because of the steep slope. Hence we decided to come again to conquer this challange. Sheena came over to Mei Foo and she was given a nice lunch from my grandmother. Grandma cooked curry and bee hon and I was happy that Sheena enjoyed the food.

After lunch, both of us went to La Chi Kok park to take a walk. Told her that today was her day and she was supposed to take many photos. After an hour or so, it started to rain and both of us ran towards Macdonald and bought ourselves ice-cream. Went home and then food again... ( Sheena, u know what I mean right? )

At around 7 plus, we met Esther and then travelled towards Tsim Sha Tsui to meet Rubee and Janice.

Clubbing

Women are God's greatest gift to men. I mean they are really a treasure that God has made for all men to love. Men loves to take care of women and provide everything for them. This has been a tradition, a culture that has been passed down generations to generations. This doesn't apply to guys that are attached. It also applies to bachelors out there. I kinda fall into this category. My life has been filled with many good girlfriends. Many came into my life when I entered university and it was really nice and sweet to know them.

Anyway, went out clubbing yesterday at Lan Kwang Fong with Janice, Rubee, Esther, Sheena and Nigel. Went to Club C and they were playing R&B. This was the first time I saw more gals than guys in the club. But then I thought that clubbing in HK was not as fun as Singapore. So Sheena, Esther and I decided to go out and take a walk. We tried to walked towards the Star Ferry terminal but to no avail. 3 of us were kinda tispy and we were singing and eating in the middle of the night at Central. It was kinda fun and I really dont mind doing this every night. =)))))

First Movie In Hong Kong

Went to school early in the morning to attend French. French to me was something similar to that of my spanish that I took in SMU a year ago. It was rather interesting and amazing to know how similar the two languages were. After my class, I went out with the 4 girls to Festival Walk and we spent 3 hours there shopping for clothes. Well, i didn't really got anything but the 4 girls were busily trying out jeans and tops.

At around 4 plus, Sheena and Janice went back to school for class and the rest of us went to Taste to get durians. The girls were suppose to prepare dinner today and well, I waited for 2 hours before I could finally eat my dinner, which was at 715pm. I was sooo hungry by then. I seriously think that guys cannot have their meals late. hahahaha....

After dinner, Esther went for her Hall meeting while Sheena and I went to catch a movie at Festival Walk. We watched the 950pm show called, "THE CAVE". I really think that this show was kinda crap. However, watching Sheena being frightened by the sudden apperance of monsters just made me laugh. Don't kill me Sheena. =PppPPpp

Shenzhen Trip

Finally, I got the energy and chance to blog. Wanted to write out everything that had happened this weekend but I got no chance at all. Woke up this morning at 11am and I checked my Merger course outline. I realised that it was super super super difficult because I got summary reports to write every week. To write is not an issue but to read a 44 page report and summarise it to 1 page is surely hard. Given the fact that I am going to travel most of the week end, I did't want to "destroy" my group mates' grades and I also want to enjoy my exchange and not killed it. Anyway, decided to drop this course and do something easier.. hahaha =))))

Went to Shenzhen, China this weekend and wow, it was really an experience for me. Really really an experience for me. I really want to note everythin down because this is something new and I have NEVER experience such a way of travelling before. Here goes,

10th September 2005

Woke up early and gave Sheena a morning call to wake her up. Kinda excited to know that I will be going to China in a few hours time. Packed my bag and then went to Kowloon Tong KCR with my 5th Uncle (Louis) to meet Sheena, Esther, Rubee and Janice. I was late in meeting them because there was some technical fault with the MTR at Prince Edward. Anyway, when I finally met them, I could sense the tiredness in all of them. Think its because all of them didn't get use to the waking up early mode. The KCR ride took 40 minutes and we reached Luo Hu at around 1015am.

After going through the China immigration, all of us were feeling rather excited. The girls were very hungry and we settled for brunch at one of the eatery in Shenzhen. Oh, we met Sheena's daddy's agent (Thomas) too. After eating, we went to Dong Men to shop. The girls finally perked up with energy and its really amazing to see the way they shopped. They almost went to every shoe shops in the whole of Dong Men. Initially, they dont know how to bargain. Then my uncle began to teach them Bargaining101. After a few shops, all of them were on their own. And guess what, Sheena bought 7 pairs of shoes, Esther bought 3 pairs, Rubee 4 pairs and Janice 2 pairs. And guess the cost of each shoe?? Its only RMB40, which is only less than $8 Sing. Oh gosh, they were very happy and excited and proud of their buy. So while the girls were shopping, I was happily standing outside of the shop with my uncle and thomas, waiting for them and holding their bags and shoes. haahah.. poor me man.. I still got an additional job, which is to tell them that the shoes look nice on them. GRIN.. =D

After shopping, Thomas brought us to have dinner at this Sichuan Restuarant. It was really spicy and nice and the food was arroy mak mak. Before dinner, 5 of us were singing in the vehicle and this geared us for Karaoke Session. Thomas then brought us to a Club for Karaoke. Oh boy, there were actually girls waiting and serving all of us at the club and it was indeed an eye opener for all of us.

11th September 2005

Oh gosh, I finished this day but then the whole website hung and now I got to rewrite again. :(((.. anyway, Woke up early and also managed to get the 4 girls out of bed to prepare themselves to go to the Windows of the World. We managed to leave the house at 9am and we were off walking towards the nearest substation. My uncle bluffed us and told us that the journey would only be 10 mins but we walked for more than 30 mins before reaching the station.

Paid RMB120 and off we went into the Windows of the World. It was nice and my uncle told us that we would spend more than half a day that but guess what, the girls got me out in less than 2 hours. Hhahaha.... They were just getting tired and eager to shop for more stuff. Hence we decided to leave that place and head back to Fu Min to collect our stuff.

Esther, Rubee and Janice waited at the Fu Min station while Sheena walked back with me to uncle's house. It was another long long walk back but I think its good becasue I can lose more weight. hahahaha... =))))

Request my uncle to bring them to eat beef ball noodles and luckily, all of them enjoyed the food except Janice, reason being she can't have beef. Well, we ordered chicken noodles for her..=)))

And off we went to Luo Hu City and the girls went a little crazy again with shoes and bags.

I think all these experience are pretty nice and memorable and I will sure to miss them once the exchange ends. Hope we can all still meet up and chill when we are back in Singapore.

Night Shopping

Just came home from shopping again. Went to meet Esther and Sheena at Tsim Sha Tsui and I took a bus from Mei Foo to the Star Ferry Terminal. This is my very first attempt trying to take a public bus alone and it was surely a cool experience. Saw many unknown areas in HK and I totally agree with the idea of "to enjoy a country, you got to live like a local".

Thought I won't buy anything at all today but I was wrong. The girls wanted me to style my hair so we went to a shop to purchase wax. After getting it, we realised that the shop had lots of cheap branded perfumes. I mean its really cheap. We werent worried about the reputable of the shop because it is located along the branded street at Tsim Sha Tsui. I got myself CK be for less than $40. =))))

I will be going to ShenZhen tml. Will update my blog when I am back.

Sianz week sia

Wow, it seems rather a long long time since I blogged (only 4 days). However, nothing really unusual happened to me for the past 4 days. This is the first week of school and I tasted nothing about having a hectic school life. Think its really going to be a holiday for me here in Hk. Got my hair cut and coloured with the company of 3 beautiful young girls. Hhaahah!! Kinda of an ego booster when 3 of them walked into the salon just to see my hair being cut. And of course the stylist asked if 3 of them are my gfs. hahahha!!! Feeling good sia.

Went to Stanley Market 2 days ago with Janice and Rubee. Rather interesting to see the both of them shop.

Haven been running for a week.. think I am going for a run this afternoon after coming back from school...

Feeling sianz now..

Tanning

Sheena's daddy brought us to dinner yesterday at some chinese resturant and the food was arroy mak mak.. the tofus melt in the mouth and everything he ordered was super tasty. thanks uncle!!!!! After that, we took the star ferry and crossed over to Tsim Sha Tsui. The view at night was fantastic and I really think that HK is a place for romance.

We went straight to Esprit outlet and once again, we shopped and got lots of clothes. I got Rubee to be my image consultant and she chose a nic blue shirt for me. This is really the wonder of shopping with women. They really dressed you up.. I manage to pursue Sheena to buy this very beautiful blue shorts. I think it's very nice and suits her image. One thing about Sheena is that she loves BLUE and GREEN. Whatever she chose, it's always that same colour. However that aside, I think it really looks pretty on her so I shant comment much on it. If not, she will kill me again.. =PpppP

As for today, I didn't do much except surfing the net. However, I went for an afternoon run (2pm) and I took off my top while running. Oh boy, I love the sun because I can tan myself. Got all the craze about tanning from Rubee and Janice. They kept asking me to go sun tanning at their roof top.. wahahah.. =))))

Attended my first class at City U and its kinda easy and boring. Learnt about computers and internet and I am going to clear it under T&E. Will be going for my morning walk tml and French class.

For JM and Sister

Didn't have the energy and the perk to continue writing a blog until I saw an email from JM..hence decided to let her know about my life in HK so that at least someone can share my joy and sorrow.. =)))))))

2nd September 2005

Went to school in the afternoon for the welcome reception for all exchange students. Very happy and delighted to see Grace, who was helping out as one of the buddies for all exchange students. Grace was one of the former exhcange students back in my university and I got to know here through TW. She is a very nice and cheerful girl and perhaps the first girl I got to know before I came to HK. :)

Janice and Rubee came at around 315pm and they went munching away all the snacks.. poor SINGAPOREAN girls.. ahhaha.. shortly after that, the president of the university went onto the stage to give a speech.. oh boy, i really think that the speech was not up to my liking. He kept muttering about himself and also about HK... The speech lasted almost 30minutes and after that, we were seperated into our own buddy group. My buddy is a 3rd year student studying in the faculty of accountancy. She went to NUS last term for exchange and I really think that she is a super nice girl too..

The whole event ended at around 5plus and then I brought Sheena and Esther to Sha Tian. The whole evening we talked about love and relationship and it kinda brought me back to my past lovely droovy mood. Oh boy, it wasnt really the best thing that we should have talk about and I think I wont wana talk about it anytime soon again. The feeling was bad. I learned about Sheena's one and I felt sad and pity for her too..=(((((

3rd September 2005

Woke up very early but not for run.. ahahha...got a city tour arranged by school for us to visit Lantau Island. However, the cost of this trip is not free and I've got to pay HK$80 for it. The weather in the morning was kinda rainy but it got better as we travelled towards the island.

The journey was around 1hour 30mins and the first stop was Tian Tan Buddha at Po Lin Monastery. This figure was 26.4m high and we still got to climb up a fleet of many many stairs before reaching the top. There the view was nice and we took lots of photos. Lunch was next and guess what, other exchange students stopped eating after the 3rd dish but singaporeans' chopsticks kept going on.. hahhahah.. because we were going to take a boat ride later, we then talked about Merlion (vormiting)..

After lunch, we went to Tai O. Tai O os an old fishing village and is known as "Oriental Venice". I think Thailand is better well known as oriental venice. That aside, we went to Yueng Hau Temple and also climbed mountain to the stone obelisk. This stone obelisk was erected in 1902 to make the water boundary between HK and China. Then we took a small boat ride into the sea to see pink dophines. I managed to catch a view of some and indeed, it was pretty and nice. =)))

This whole trip ended at around 7pm and we took a boat ride back to Tung Chung. From there, we made our own way back home. We passed back the interchange station between Disyland and there were already lots of people. I guess when12th September comes, the whole train and place will be packed with people.. For that, I know I will be one of them....

4th September 2005

Did nothing in the morning but going out soon....will be going to church later at night with Grace. =))))

Finally Run

1st September 2005

Finally woke up and started my running plan. Had a 3km run and the after feeling was fantastic..=))) Went out in the afternoon with my 5th Uncle to Tai Zi to purchase some dry food for the bird.. This bird was kinda irritating because it could actually talk. Once, this bird woke me up from my afternoon nap..

At around 6pm, went to school to attend cantonese class. Think its kinda crap and so decided to declare early dismissal and went to Festival Walk with Rubee and Janice. Waited for Sheena and Esther to come along and then I brought them to Mong Kok and Tai Zi.

The advantage of going out with 4 gals was that they could give you super good view on what to wear and also the colour combination. =))) I was actually trying out clothes and letting them see if it was nice a not.. =)).. well, i bought 2 shirts under their strict supervision and of course, I kinda liked the 2 shirts too..

However, I got to constantly look after them because I am afraid that they might get lost or even get cheated...

Hong Kong!!!!!

Greetings from Hong Kong, a country full of vibrancy, food and lots and lots of shopping. This is my 5th day in HK and I've finally decided to write the whole exchange on a blog so that I can remember every little details as I grow older.. Here goes,

27th August 2005

Went to the airport early with my family with the intention to check in my stuff but apparently, the check-in was 2 hours before departure. Hence we went to the food court to have a nice lunch and we took family photos at the airport. =)

My baggage was 11kg excess because my dad wants me to bring coffee powder, and lots of local food to HK for my relatives. Hence, I relectuantly paid $40 plus just for the excess food. Anyway, Shufang, Ben, Cheryl and my sister Serah came and sent me off at the airport. It was real sweet of them to come and they got me a Cantonese language book ( I cant speak yet ) and Serah wrote me a nice card. =)))) Well, we chat at the airport for around an hour before I went in. Kinda miss all of them now because these are the few closest friends I have in Uni.

The flight was 3 and a half hours and I got nothing to do.. spent my time listening to samba music, reading christian books and of course, sleep..Reached HK at around 8pm and all boy, no one was there to pick me up. My relatives were all waiting for me at home. Found my own way to Mei Foo and its kinda nice actually to find your own way. You can actually feel a sense of satisfaction. =)

28th August 2005

Woke up early and went to Sha Tin with my 6th uncle. The reason I went there was because I've got to pay respect to my late grandfather. Bought some flowers along the way and placed it at his tablet. After that, I climbed up a flight of stairs (really really long), up into the mountain and into the 10000 Buddhas Temple. There is a super nice view up from the mountain and had a nice cold bean curb milk before going down.

Met Sheena and Esther at Hyatt Hotel, Tsim Sha Tsui at night. Apparently they had a little problem with their lodging at campus, and so they both bunk in together with Sheena's parents. Its nice to see Sporeans again and we went out to shop for accessories.

29th August 2005

Went to school in the morning to settle all my admin matters. Then went to Mong Kok with Sheena, Esther, Janice and Rubee. We had our first taste of the HK crowd and then we settled for a decent meal at one of the shops.

30th August 2005

Woke up early in the morning to accompany my grandma for morning walk. Here in HK, I got to walk up early everyday to take morning walk or run because my relatives want me to jian fei.. all man!!! which means that I cant have long sleep anymore..

Went to school in the afternoon and met Sheena, Esther, Rubee and Janice. =))).. Settled our academic stuff again and then we went out to the Avenue of Stars at night with Sheena and Esther. =) It was nice to see HK island from Kowloon and we stayed till 8pm to see the Light presentation across the sea. I thought that the display was kinda boring unless you go dwn with ur love. There were many love birds around and its the only good reason to go dwn if u wan to hug ur gf/bg. I felt that spore whould have more romantic places. Hk really got lots of romantic areas to date a woman. =)

Then I accompanied the 2 girls to shop...

31st August 2005

Finally got to sleep till 10am...=))) Went to school again for the welcome lunch for exchange students. It was nice to see so many of them from all over the world and I really enjoyed changing culture and words with them.

Then I went out with the 4 girls to HK island. We went to Lan Kwai Fong to look for Rubee's friend. He is apparently working as a part time at an ice cream shop. We chilled till 5pm and then we took an electric tram to Causeway Bay. There, I bought my first item in this trip. An Esprit leather bag which cost less than S$30. It was surely a good buy and I got the privilege of 4 girls to shop with me.
